February 2010 - Marion Almy, President, has been appointed the Chairperson of the Florida Historical Commission (FHC). The FHC was established by the Legislature (Chapter 267.0612, Florida Statutes) to enhance public participation and involvement in the preservation and protection of the State's historic and archaeological sites and properties. As one of seven gubernatorial appointees to the FHC, Marion also represents the field of prehistory on the Florida National Register Review Board.
February 2010 - Marion Almy, President, and Joan Deming, Vice President, have completed Principles of Tribal Consultation, a continuing education workshop conducted by the SRI Foundation in Atlanta, Georgia.

October 2009 - Marion Almy, President, completed the National Native American Graves Protection & Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) Program training. NAGPRA provides a federally mandated process for Museums and Federal agencies under USC 3001/43/CFR 10, to resolve rights to Native American human remains and cultural items.
May 2009 - Lee Hutchinson, Senior Archaeologist, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Florida Public Archaeology Network.
April 2009 - Marion Almy, President, has been appointed to the Historic Preservation Board of Advocates for the University of Florida's College of Design, Construction and Planning.
September 2008 - Lee Hutchinson, Senior Archaeologist, was elected Chair of the Hillsborough County Historic Resources Review Board.
